Light falls - world science festival 2015

Gerald W. Lynch Theatre, John Jay College, 27th May 2015

Picture
For the opening event of the 2015 World Science Festival in New York, Theoretical Physicist Brian Greene presides over a celebration of the 100th anniversary of Einstein's Theory of Relativity.

Part lecture, part theatrical performance, Professor Brian Greene and ensemble cast dramatically recreate Einstein's journey to develop his greatest theories . To help contextualise and explain these theories, 59 Productions created animations, projected throughout the show.

As senior animator I was tasked with creating several shots to accompany explanations of theories of light, gravity, acceleration, and space/time. We then travelled to New York for six days of technical rehearsals before the show opened. Not only was it great to see all the work come together in a truly inspirational show, but also to meet the whole World Science Festival team and my American animator counterparts who were fantastic!

Head over to the 59 Productions site to see some stills from the show.

Also, see below for some highlights of my work on the show
