October - December 2016
Ending 2016 with a brilliant beginning for 2017, 'Made in Hull' is the centre piece to the week long celebrations marking Hull as UK City of Culture 2017.
Long time friend and colleague Zsolt Balogh kindly asked me to help him the piece which celebrates 70 years of Hull's history, including its days as a major trading port, its fishing industry, the devastation during the Blitz as well as an optimistic look toward the future. The piece included unique projections for 3 landmark buildings in Queen Victoria square in the city centre and was played all evening for the opening week of January 2017.
The work has since received overwhelming praise from both the organisers of Hull 2017 and the people of Hull, attracting 342,000 visitors to the square in seven days!
The images below are examples of my work for the project, including scenes depicting the devastation of Hull during World War II, the Triple trawler tradgedy, and the finale for the show.
